Are you Busy Sitting ?

 Blog Overview

If you have a very busy lifestyle and you are exhausted at the end of the day, ask yourself if you were Busy Sitting!
Most of us who are busy are either
1. Travelling- And are sitting
2. Attending Meetings- Yet again sitting
3. Working at Office - Most of the work is done while you are sitting
4. Come back late at home and need some rest- Sitting on a couch watching TV

Steps we could take: Use a fitness tracker or a simple Pedometer to ensure that you are getting the required exercise. Daily monitoring is the Key

Keeping yourself busy is good. It is supposed to keep the body fit, the mind engaged and help optimize your productivity. However in this modern Busy-ness driven world, busy is synonymous with sitting for long hours. And if you are very very busy, then you are sitting for long hours at different locations.

I will keep this post short. The reason as to why I wanted to write on this topic is because there are quite a few Prehealing Participants who are perpetually busy, yet do not get enough exercise. Some are so busy that they have been neglecting their dis-eases in order to attend to business.

If you find yourself to be of the very busy sitters, here is what you can do

  1. Maintain a strict eating regimen. Do not eat just to give company to others. Our digestive system is not a dustbin and the worst thing you can do is to keep loading junk in your system, the effects of which will manifest as sickness thereby impacting your business. If you do have to eat, eat light and chose fresh juices instead of bottled beverages or sugary drinks.
  2. Walk as and when possible. If you were to reach the airport early, do not sit in the lounge. Take a walk. If you are on a call, do not sit at your desk and talk- take a walk as you talk. On average you can clock 600-1000 steps for every 10 minutes that you spend on the phone. This is my secret as well. I have to talk with many participants during the day, I do this while I am walking or while I am pacing up and down in a small room. Telephonic conversations help me clock around 15000-20000 steps in a day
  3. And when you come home late at night: Avoid crashing on the couch in front of the Television set. White Light at Night can play havoc with your biological clock. TV at night would deprive you of precious family bonding time.
  4. Meditate before you go to sleep. It will help you prioritize as well as optimize your lifestyle
  5. Wake up early and start your day with 10-15 minutes of Pranayama and light yoga.
  6. Make it a point to take 1/4th to ½ tsp of Triphala powder in a glass of water at least 2-3 times a week

You should see a marked improvement in your health even if you were to follow these most basic lifestyle changes. Remember, what you earn is of no use if you do not have the wealth that matters the most- HEALTH.

The Godfather: Achyranthes aspera

This is a classic case of mistaken identity where a plant as versatile and beneficial as this one is considered a weed. The challenge however is that it is prickly, a little difficult to deal with and it has its own ways of bullying other plants. And yes, who needs godfathers ! Do read on... and you might change your mind. This is a powerful herb, a last resort one can turn to when afflicted with difficult to cure diseases. For starters: The devils broom has a way of reversing antibiotic resistance in pathogens - something that seems really magical. It also does help protect from the toxic venoms of insects, reptile bites, scorpion and snake bites. And during natural calamities this plant also comes to ones aid as an alternative food especially during famines: tender leaves can be cooked as spinach and the seeds can be eaten as a substitute to grain. Surprisingly, whilst it helps you survive starvation during a famine, it comes to your aid when you are struggling with unhealthy...

Purva-Tapa and Pre-Healing

( Meanings of certain Sanskrit as well as IT jargon used in this article can be found at the bottom of this post )       One of the greatest battles ever fought was about to begin.  The armies on both the sides were ready, waiting for a sign so that they could hurl themselves on to each other.  This war was being fought between members of the same clan. They were all related and many had to make a painful choice of picking one side versus the other. In fact most weren't even enemies . A war that was being fought because those who were in power turned a blind eye to the  festering hatred, ego issues, greed, jealousy and the unethical practices of their close kith and kin who abused the power that they had access to.. This was a unique war.  The war had not even begun, but Arjuna had already visualized the end of the war.  He saw the battlefield strewn with bodies of his beloved relatives. No longer did victory mean mu...
